It is so very hot here. It is 99 today. No rain in sight. We sure could use some rain. I am busy as a bee with school out. Kids are playing every where.
My mother's health is about the same. No better, but no worse. That is a blessing.

My goodness, where does the time go. It is already the 6th of May. Mother's day will be here this weekend. I am thinking as my mother has been doing so poorly (hope I am wrong) that this might be my mother's last Mother's Day. Mother's Day this year will find me sitting with my mother while my sister and her family are out of town. I am glad they are able to get away, they need the break. May 10th is also my youngest son's birthday. Jon will be 32. How odd, my baby is 32. Gosh time is tricky stuff, Jon should still be a little boy. Anyway...that is what is going on in my world today.

new week
Had a wonderful full weekend. Just the husband and I...the boys were with their other grandmother. We went thrift store shopping, out to visit mom, then out to eat. Sunday morning we went to church where the message was 'if you only had one month to live' and pastor Joe was great. He is a good speaker. The music was very good too. After church we drove to Elgin for barbeque. So nice. The weather was perfect and what more can a girl ask?

my mother
There is no good news about my mother. This past weekend was 'my' weekend to sit with her. Saturday morning when I got there she was very very sick. I sat with her all day and kept my eye on her. (we are lucky enough to have a good care giver) She is running fever, begging for water, and generally looking very bad. I called my oldest son who lives in Salado and told him if he wanted to see his grandmother alive again he had better come. He did come on Sunday to see her. Somehow, someway, she has managed to do a little better. I saw her last night and she was still 'hot' with fever and begging for water. (for you who do not know, my mother had a massive stroke and she lost the ability to swallow. Anything that goes into her mouth and is swallowed goes to her lungs not her stomach. She is fed through a tube in the stomach, she is given wanter through the same tube, she has had nothing by mouth since last June) This is so hard...Roxie

my mother
I am here today to blog about my mother. Her health is very bad right now. She is in the hospital. I am praying for God's will be done. My mother is 77 and has been wheel chair bound since a stroke in 2001. Now she is facing heart failure. She is seeing things. She is just very sad.

first blog
This is my first blog. Do not have much to say really. Just wanted to join the wonderful world of blogs.
My name is Roxie. I am 55. I am married to a wonderful man. We just returned from our dream vacation/anniversary trip to Hawaii. This trip was to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and to celebrate David's return to health. On August 3 my husband suffered a stroke. Lucky for us it was not a major stroke, but it was enough to get his attention. He had let his health go for far too long and it finally caught up with him. Now he is on some expensive medications, he must give himself shots several times every day, and he MUST visit the doctor a couple of times a month instead of not seeing a doctor for more than 2 years....
I do home day care for a living. I love it very much. I have been in business for almost 20 years. I still enjoy the children very much. It is great too that I get to see and spend quality time with my grandsons every day...
I also have 4 dogs. I love them too. They are my 'children with fur' as my husband calls them.
Well, this is the end of my first blog. Roxie
